Towing & clearways

Find out how to avoid getting your vehicle towed and impounded, and what to do if this does happen.

Vehicles will be towed to a secure compound if they are stopped illegally in Clearways, No Stopping zones or designated Bus Lanes. These actions contribute to congestion in the city and can cause delays for other road users.

Fees and charges

To retrieve your vehicle, you will be required to pay the towing cost recovery fee. This fee can vary from $368.50 to $400 and covers the cost of towing and administration costs. No additional revenue is generated by the towing service.

A City of Perth infringement notice may also be issued to all vehicles towed within the CBD, please visit the City of Perth  website for further information.

It is important to note that the City of Perth can still issue fines for vehicles illegally parked in restricted areas. If a fine has been issued, this does not make the vehicle exempt from being towed.  When you collect your vehicle from the Towing Compound, you may find your vehicle has also been fined.

Where does towing apply?
